I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know how much I appreciate everything you and your team did to make my first charter go smoothly. Not only was the boat perfect, your team helped with planning, provisioning, marina and restaurant recommendations, everything. Joe was a fabulous check-out Captain, and he reassured me that I could do this. I could not have asked for a better “first” charter, and my wife and children enjoyed it as much as I did.
People say all the time “I had the vacation of a lifetime,” and I have said it too. But this really was. In the eight nights that we were out, we saw nearly 100 orcas, dozens of bald eagles, countless seals – some even nursing their young – sea otters, birds of all colors and types, and scenery beyond description. We ended up hitting Sucia, Stuart Island, Roche Harbor (with a fun exit down Mosquito Pass), Victoria, Sidney, Sidney Spit, Ganges, Jones Island, and back to Snoring Bay at Sucia for the last night. On most of the nights we anchored out, we hiked the islands extensively. Awesome. On the last night, as we sat alone in that beautiful little cove on Sucia, eating dinner on the flybridge while we watched the sun set, a bald eagle landed in a tree not 50 yards from the boat. He watched us for nearly 30 minutes. Not to be outdone by an eagle, the next morning I was drinking coffee on the bridge as the sun came up when a sea otter came up right next to the boat and ate for awhile before swimming off. Truly amazing, and a remarkable way to end a perfect trip.
