This morning we watched eagerly as Cassy, the post mistress, loaded up her dinghy with baskets of cinnamon rolls and headed our way.  This special recipe has made her locally famous with boaters and we always make sure to buy a bunch when we are in town.  Munching on still-warm rolls in the sunshine and sipping our coffee was the perfect start to our last day.

As we pulled out of Meyers Chuck this morning, we hardly recognized the harbor.  This morning there was a -1.4 tide and the water level in the harbor had dropped over 15 ft from when we arrived!  It is amazing to watch these extreme tides transform the landscape and expose the rocks, kelp and intertidal creatures below.

On our way to Ketchikan, we saw two more humpback whales!  As we neared the city, the boat traffic increased and houses dotted the shoreline.  Pretty soon the cruise ships and the town came into view.  After fueling the boats and settling in on the dock, most crews took a well-earned nap before heading into town to explore.

We all met up at Annabelle’s restaurant for dinner.  It was a great way to end the trip with all us sharing one final meal together.  This has been an incredible trip!
