Well, today was our last day underway on this trip. It was hard to believe that our journey was coming to an end; but, it was amazing to think back to all of the places we’ve been. While everyone was excited to get back to loved ones and pets back home, they were also reluctant to leave the boats that they’ve become so accustomed to. We had gotten into a great rhythm and lifestyle out there, and I know we’ll all miss it.
Our final day on the water was glassy calm, but the smoke still hung thick in the air reducing the visibility. Our thoughts go out to all those who have been affected by these wildfires. We hope that they, and all of those working hard to contain the fires, stay safe.
Grand Adventure and Eldean both decided to head out of Bellingham today and stay with friends and family down south. So, they were busy packing their bags and making their end of trip arrangements while we were underway. Once back in Bellingham, we waved them off and wished them safe travels. It has been a pleasure cruising with both crews!
Patos and Inception decided to stay up until the last minute. They enjoyed a nice dinner together over at Anthony’s. A great way to wrap up the trip. This has been an incredible adventure. We have seen some spectacular and remote places, some incredible wildlife, and some wonderful small towns and welcoming communities along the way. We’ve had quality time with our loved ones away from the many distractions of modern life, and made new friendships with our cruising companions. This has been a truly memorable trip, and I don’t think it will be the last time we’ll see this group out on the water. Until next time, wishing you all fair winds and calm seas!
