After a relaxing morning at Rosario Resort, we left the dock and headed out on the water.  We had wonderful weather for our cruise to Sucia Island.  It was another clear day with mountain vistas all around us; a view we could never get tired of!

We rafted the boats together in Echo Bay on Sucia Island.  It was a wonderful sunny summer afternoon and everyone took full advantage of the day.  The Hele Mai crew took their kayaks out and went for a paddle.  Hannah, Carter and David even jumped in for a quick swim!  Other crews went to shore to explore.  Sucia island has many wonderful hiking trails.  The sculpted sandstone shorelines and many reefs full of resting harbor seals made for great dinghy tours too.

Since it was our last night together, we had everyone over to Alaskan Dream for a pot luck dinner.  We had an amazing array of delicious food, and wonderful company to share the evening with.  Once all together, we were also able to share a slideshow from the trip and see one another’s photos.  It was a lovely and memorable evening.

As dusk fell, we headed to shore for a bonfire.  Eating s’mores around the campfire and watching the sun set over the quiet bay with new friends, brought back fun memories from childhood.  It has been a wonderful week of cruising in the San Juan Islands.  Though we are reluctant for the trip to end, everyone is looking forward to returning to their loved ones at home.
