We had a nice calm day for cruising down Chatham Strait to Baranof Warm Springs. You can tell this group is comfortable cruising together by the friendly banter that goes on between the boats underway. Today we had jokes, stories and riddles all being tossed around as we cruised.
We pulled into Baranof Warm Springs in the early afternoon and found space at the dock. The falls were running hard and creating a lot of current in the bay for our crews to put their docking skills to work. With the help of the Deception crew, we all got settled safely on the dock except for Exact who chose to anchor out in the bay.
It was a slightly drizzly afternoon, perfect for a soak in the hot springs! The crews from Eldean, Bonum Vitae and Thea all headed up for a dip. We had the springs almost all to ourselves and enjoyed a nice long afternoon soak in the hot water. The river was rushing alongside the pools and it was a delight to relax surrounded by such beautiful scenery.
The Arctic Star crew took a walk up to the lake to admire the turquoise water and mountain vistas. Those that didn’t want to hike up to the springs made use of the three private bathhouses on the dock. There’s nothing quite like a private tub with a waterfall view to truly put you in vacation mode.
