San Juan Islands’ Marina Information 

Due to the continued Canadian border closure, some of the marinas in our area have changed their policies, and across the board it is shaping up to be a busy summer. We recommend making moorage reservations as soon as possible if you want to stay in marinas during your trip. There are plenty of great anchorages in our area as well!  

The biggest change this summer is that Roche Harbor is no longer taking reservations. Instead, they are offering a first–come first–serve daily waitlist. To get your name on the waitlist you can call the marina, by VHF, beginning at 8:30AM each morning. You are welcome to anchor outside the marina and dinghy ashore to use the facilities. You will get a call back around midday letting you know if they have space available for you. You can contact Roche Harbor for additional information on this new policy.   

The following marinas are still taking reservations; however, we recommend making reservations soon if you wish to stay at any of them.  

• Friday Harbor Marina on San Juan Island- This is one of the largest marinas in the area. Staying here you have easy access to the town of Friday Harbor with many different restaurant options and a well-stocked grocery store.  

• Deer Harbor Marina on Orcas Island- This is a very small marina in a lovely setting. There are restaurants on shore (though be sure to check their hours before arriving) and a small general store/ice cream shop.  
• Rosario Resort Marina on Orcas Island- This is a beautiful marina and resort. Currently The Mansion restaurant is operating at 50% capacity and some spa services are available. Check the website for updates.  
• Lopez Islander Resort Marina– The Islander resort has its own restaurant; however, Lopez Village- the main town on the island- is located a mile from the resort. You can walk into town or dinghy over and land on the beach. Note: Use caution when entering or exiting Fisherman’s Bay. The entrance has a depth of only 4.5 ft at a 0 tide. To be safe, this area is better accessed at high tide.
