2024 Inside Passage Flotilla North – Day 14 Lay Day in Pruth Bay

Our lay day in Pruth Bay was a wet one, but that didn’t stop us from getting out to adventure. Bundled up in raingear, we dinghied to shore to explore the beaches. No Agenda broke off from the group to do some cove exploration, while Pamelican decided to stay back and do some fishing.

The forest was filled with beautiful Western Bunch Berry flowers everywhere you looked, along with red, curly deer fern lining the trails. On the path we came across many banana slugs, slowly trekking along.

As we made it to the beach, the sun came out with perfect timing, considering we no longer had the shelter of the trees to keep us from getting wet. The shore was covered in abalone and limpet shells, while the tide pools had a variety of sea life, including green sea anemones and multi-colored mottled sea stars. Bill even found a purple sea urchin. It was a successful day of nature exploration. With both rain and shine, beaches and the woods, we got a little bit of everything!
