0530am start, for a long 72 nm run down to Sooke today. Sleepy gremlins emerged from their births, becoming human again with their morning coffees. We started our journey as the sun rose, catching some spectacular views on the water. Exiting Dodger Channel, we were sloshed about by some large swells, spacing out and becoming gentle as we made it back into the open ocean. A few lucky viewers caught some breeching humpbacks, we witnessed some porpoises bow riding and happened upon numerous flocks of sea birds. A jumping salmon here or there. About 8 hours on the water, we all took turns driving, snacking, and napping while underway.

It was very dynamic entering Sooke Harbour. Aligning the range buoys, navigating through the channel. The wind and currents were ripping, making for a challenging dock. All of our skilled captains pulled it off. We met up on Athena for cocktail hour, sharing memories and snacks before Whistler left the flotilla on their early morning departure.
