A rare treat for Leg 3 of our Alaska Flotilla in Hoonah! Tim Hoving, our flotilla captain and seasoned boater, had only ever seen bubble net feeding once before; this past Friday he witnessed it several times in a 30 minute period.

Tim and guests were in their dinghies with engines off as the whales were swimming away, and suddenly made a 180 degree turn, putting on quite the show. Other whale watching vessels and private vessels were nearby to witness this amazing display. Here are two videos capturing part of the experience.

The wildlife viewings thus far have been exceptional! Many encounters with bears, whales (humpbacks & orcas), sea otters, eagles and sea birds.
