Alaska Flotilla: Leg 6, Day 3 – Prince Rupert Lay Day

Those who were up early were treated to a beautiful, still morning.  A low fog hung over the water and we watched as the fishing fleet took off from the docks and disappeared into it.  It didn’t take long for the fog to burn off and the day to turn warm and sunny once again.  We are getting spoiled with this weather!

Most crews enjoyed leisurely mornings on board.  It was such a pleasant day out, and it felt great to soak in the sunshine on deck with a morning cup of coffee.  Then it was time to provision for the next week out and explore Prince Rupert.  We enjoyed moseying around the local art galleries, museum and gift shops.

Let me introduce the crews on Leg 6!  Aboard Change of Latitude are Todd and Judy.  They have cruised with us multiple times in the past, and this leg from Ketchikan to Bellingham was their favorite!  We are excited to have them back for more.  This time, they are joined for part of the trip by their family members Steve and Sam from Seattle.

The owners of Victoria, Bill and Denise, are on board for this leg.  Along with their friend Ed and their three beautiful golden retrievers, Jack, Hudson and Gracie.  The dogs are taking to life on board very well.  On Patos we have Doug and Marta accompanied by Doug’s sister Doreen and her husband Rob.  They are newer to the cruising world, but are learning a lot and doing great!

Jack and Annette stayed aboard Bonum Vitae from Leg 5, so they are getting a nice long trip this year from Juneau to Bellingham.  On Discovery, we have a rotating cast of characters.  Budd and his sons JJ and Herb and their families are all joining for different parts of the trip.  Currently JJ and his wife Linda and their kids Sam, Grace and Katelyn are all aboard.
