What is it like to charter a yacht?

NW Explorations offers a variety of options for getting out on the water and exploring this summer. In addition to our famed annual flotilla excursions to Alaska, the San Juan Islands and Desolation Sound, we also offer private luxury yachts, yacht brokerage, training courses, and yacht maintenance.

Private charters range from 38 to 58-foot vessels and come equipped with galley or full-size kitchens, modern electronics, and comfortable sleeping quarters – including fluffy luxury duvets. You’ll love having all the comforts of home while cruising the Pacific Northwest. You can spend your days soaking up sun aboard the yacht or take in the abundant sights and sounds of the area on trips to the nearby Gulf or San Juan Islands.

Training for new boaters

First-time boaters, will be happy to find that we offer training sessions that teach anyone how to skipper their own yacht and build confidence out on the water. Training ranges from one to three days, depending on your skill level and covers topics like navigation, emergency planning, anchoring, and more.

We also offer women-only courses, kicking to the curb the archaic notion of women as assistants rather than at the helm. We want women to feel empowered on the water.
