Fleming 55 Charter

Morning aboard a Tin Hau tends to start quietly. You come up to the pilothouse with coffee, the furnace has already taken the chill out of the air, and the bay is still yours. Tin Hau, a beautiful Fleming 55, is built for long, unhurried weeks here in the Pacific Northwest.

Her name is deliberate. Tin Hau is the goddess of the sea revered by fishermen across southern China and Southeast Asia, and an ancient temple in her name stands at Junk Bay, Hong Kong; where Tony Fleming began building boats. She’s maintained accordingly: varnish completed in July 2025, mechanical and bottom service in January 2025, stabilizers installed in 2020, and a lithium house bank with Victron inverter/charger and solar charging in stalled in 2024.

Three staterooms sleep six, with two heads and a 16′ beam that gives everyone somewhere to be. The galley is set up for real cooking rather than reheating: full refrigeration, oven and cooktop, microwave, and a washer and dryer aboard. Twin Cummins 450hp diesels and a Wesmar bow thruster keep handling straightforward.

With 1,025 gallons of fuel, 332 gallons of water, and a watermaker new in 2024, she’s provisioned for trips that take time. A week in the San Juans and Gulf Islands; two or three to reach Desolation Sound and back without rushing. Stabilizers earn their keep crossing the Strait of Georgia. A 12′ tender with a 30hp outboard and two Hobie Mirage kayaks come along for the shoreline.

Tin Hau joins the NW Explorations bareboat charter fleet in 2027. When you’re ready to think through a week aboard, we’re here to help.
