A recent survey by BoatUS found that many women believe there aren’t enough educational boating opportunities tailored to them. Let’s put that to an end! We offer a special, women’s-only training course that encourages women to develop their yacht skills, build confidence, and meet new friends—all in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Go on a 3-day mini-vacation around Bellingham Bay and get hands-on training—all in one.
What You’ll Learn
Learn the ins and outs of skippering your own yacht from some of the most knowledgeable and friendly instructors in the business!
During this course, you’ll learn:
- Docking best practices
- Twin engine maneuvering
- Picking up a mooring buoy
- Anchoring
- Basic navigation and route planning
- Emergency procedures and VHF communication
- Diesel engine basics
- Power management and ship’s systems
When you’re not in class, enjoy some free time exploring the restaurants and shops around the marina and then turn in for the night in your luxury stateroom.

Course Schedule
Your trip begins Friday night at 5pm with a fun meet-and-greet with your instructors and fellow students. Training kicks-off Saturday morning at 8am and concludes Monday afternoon at 2pm.

Accommodations are in shared, double-occupancy cabins (either with a partner or same-gender student) and a shared head. Schedule may vary slightly depending on vessel availability.

Cancellation & Rebooking Policy
Full payment is due at the time of registration. All balances due at time of reservation. Cancellation policy: If you cancel your reservation 45 or more days before the start of your course, your reservation will be refunded in full less $100 handling fee. If you cancel within 45 days of the start of your course, you will forfeit your tuition. Please note that each class must have a minimum of four students registered. If we need to cancel you will receive a full refund or may choose to reschedule your class to another time. We highly recommend that you purchase medical and cancellation insurance for your peace of mind. Begin with your favorite travel agent.
