After a restful night anchored beneath Chatterbox Falls, day five began as a well-earned lay day, spent enjoying the quiet beauty of Princess Louisa Inlet one last time. A calm morning gave way to light activity as we waited for the tides to settle and the rapids to ease. The peaceful atmosphere was briefly stirred by the arrival of a helicopter, delivering camp leaders and gear to the nearby youth retreat—a reminder that this remote paradise is still full of movement and purpose.

With the rapids behind us, we made our way back down Jervis Inlet, scanning the shoreline and open waters for wildlife. Though the animals remained elusive, the scenery—towering cliffs, glacial streams, and calm seas—remained stunning throughout the day.

By late afternoon, we arrived at Backeddy Marina in Egmont, ready for a well-deserved meal at Inlets Restaurant. Gathering around the table, the flotilla swapped stories from the past few days—tales of the Trapper’s Cabin hike, peaceful paddles, seal sightings, and of course, the Malibu Rapids crossing. Laughter and good food flowed freely as the group made plans for the next leg of the journey.

After five days together, it’s clear this group is more than a flotilla; it’s a floating community. Tonight, we rest with full bellies, tired legs, and grateful hearts.
