This morning we were greeted with the view of a bald eagle about 200 feet up in a tree overlooking his domain. He was probably wondering where this fleet of boats had arrived from.
We pulled anchor from Klashkish Inlet at 0800 and had a smooth day of cruising, back down the Klashkish and around Brooks Bay up to Quatsino Sound where we dropped anchor at Coal Harbor. The marina is first-come first serve but it did provide just enough room for Aquila and Eldean to squeeze between a few fishing trollers. The crew aboard Deception has arranged a rental van, since Coal Harbor is just a 25 minute drive from Port Hardy, which will provide us a chance to provision and explore the town. Pat aboard Irish Mist has offered to introduce folks to Calvin Hunter, one of the more well-known carvers in this part of the world.
