Hurry: Only 3 Spots Left in Our Desolation Sound Flotilla!

If you’ve been on the fence about booking your next adventure, now’s the time to act!

Our Desolation Sound Flotilla leaves in about a month-and-a-half, and there are only three spots still available.

This flotilla takes you on a two-week journey around British Columbia’s remote Desolation Sound—a place revered by mariners all over the world. This trip boasts some of the world’s most impressive fjords, along with 7,000-foot peaks, gorgeous waterfalls, and rare wildlife.

Early fall is also the absolute best time to go—enjoy beautiful fall foliage and quiet anchorages that beat the hustle and bustle of high season any day.

See the Best Stops and Secret Hideaways

Our decades of boating experience have equipped us to plan the perfect itinerary, taking you to the Sound’s best stops and secret hideaways. Explore the Princess Louisa Inlet—one of the Sound’s most stunning fjords, navigate Malibu Tidal rapids, snap pictures of the powerful Chatterbox Falls, hike along Sechelt Rapids, and enjoy the calmest waters you’ve ever seen in Prideaux Haven.

You’ll also travel through Jervis Inlet—the deepest fjord in British Columbia.  Your two-week trip takes you to a new place almost every day, including Ganges, Madeira Park, Princess Louisa, Egmont, Grace Harbour, Prideaux Haven, Squirrel Cove, Bargain Bay, Telegraph Harbour, Chemainus, and Friday Harbor.

Explore the Sound’s Rich History

Desolation Sound was given its name by Captain George Vancouver in 1792, who thought the rainy and remote area should be given a “desolate” name.

About 200 years later, the Desolation Sound Marine Provincial Park was created and today, Desolation Sound is one of the most beloved boating destinations in the world. While summer months see up to about 100 boats at each of the popular anchorages, during the quieter early fall (when we go), you’ll likely get a spot all to yourself!

This area is also rich in Native history: some of the anchorages we’ll stop at were once Native Villages occupied thousands of years ago. One site at Grace Harbour was so secluded, it was one of the few villages that incorporated multiple tribes. Desolation Sound also offers relatively warm water—making it perfect for swimming, scuba diving, and harvesting shellfish.
